podcasts and music wont play after a fresh install

podcasts and music wont play after a fresh install

i reinstalled the main app after getting tired of the lite version's way of shuffling and UI. i was able to login as usual but when i tried playing a podcast, any podcast, it just gives me the "something went wrong" error. With songs it just plays an ad, then the 10 second "enjoy your 30 minutes of break-free music" and then it just freezes there, still responsive but no song playing.

As a first step, we'd recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app as described here and setting Spotify as an exception in any battery- or memory-optimizing services on your device. 


It's also worth testing this with a different internet connection by a different provider to narrow down the possible cause of the issue.
