Hey everyone, this is a current ongoing issue that we are aware of. You can keep up with any updates by following this Ongoing Issues thread here:

https://community.spotify.com/t5/Ongoing-Issues/Samsung-S5-App-no-working/idi-p/1219410

Also, just as a quick reminder, our Spotify Community Guidelines ask that you not post links to older or unofficial versions of the Spotify app. All users should only download the app from our official website:Spotify.com/download/

Thanks everyone!

So whats the update on this case?

Got help from swedish support to install an older version of Spotify, but its really slow to use.

Would be great if Spotify could speed things up a little bit now.

Hi, If you update to a newer version of 5.0, 5.1 or 5.1.1, it should be fixed. So when/if that comes out to the S5, an update would fix it! Camillo

Terrible customer service.

@Aeffio Do you have the same problem even with Android 5? Have you already tried a clean reinstall of the application? Camillo

@camillo75 already did and get the same problem

Eliminate app and try downloading from above link.

It will ask you to change config to allow unknown sources. say yes and

It should work. Good luck!

I have the same problem. Spotify keeps crashing immediately when I open the app. It's been like this for a week. I have a Samsung s5, lollipop 5, I live in Sweden. I've tried to re-install the app, restart the mobile, and the above link. Nothing works..... What van I do to make it work? //Thessa

@tessa
Can you check if there are any Samsung updates for your phone firmware? The app should work with the latest S5 update from Samsung.
Camillo

Where do I find the latest update? Usually I get a notice when it's time to update the firmware. ☺ //Thessa
