stuck in offline mode

I saw numerous posts about this and I've tried various solutions, even the one where it suggested I clear the data and cache and then uninstalled Spotify and reinstall the client on my phone, but nothing seems to work unfortunately.

I can still listen to playlists in my recently listened but as to anything else, checking daily mixes etc, it refuses to load anything and says something happened or I'm offline.

I'm using a Nexus 6p phone running Android 8.1

I'm on a Note 8,and recently ran into this issue constantly. Followed the instructions on how to clear data, uninstall and reinstall, but still the same problem  I've done it multiple times using Facebook and username and password logins  my pc works just fine so I know it's not an account issue
