The songs stop if I am not inside the application

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.


In this case, we recommend you to start off with a clean reinstall of the Spotify app on your device. By doing that, the app can be up-to-date, and you can make sure the cache is not leading to this issue. You can see the steps for a clean reinstall here.


If the above doesn't do the trick, we'd like to gather some additional info. Would you mind sending us the make/model and OS of the affected device along with the Spotify version you're running there? Would you mind sending us a more detailed description of the issue you've noticed?


Lastly, does this happen if you change the internet connection you're using? Is this happening over Wi-Fi? 3G/4G? Both? Give it a try and let us know if changing the connection makes any difference.
