Why can't I do this.
Please, refrain from saying:
1)You can just drag them from the bottom to the top! Please
... this is unmanageable to do for every single song you add to a playlist.
2) Sort playlist by newest added
... then you can't rearrage the songs.

Yeah, this is not a tough call from a development standpoint. There's some UX guru sitting with a bunch of marketing **bleep** who are keeping this from happening because they think it will benefit the algorithm.
So go to the playlist then scroll to the top and there is a sort button click on that then click on the button that says recently added then the newest songs will be on the top of you playlist
It literally says in the post he doesnt wanna sort by recently added. Read the post man.
we still cant do this ffs?
5 years in and still not solved
I swear this was a feature back then but they removed it. L spotify
**bleep** THANK YOU!!! I cut and paste it and it works. On my desktop interface the songs that were automatically added at the bottom of my LONG lists (>300 songs) could not be dragued directly to the top. I don't know why, but the dragging stopped at each top of pages, so I had to do it again and again and again till I came to the top of the list. Your system spares me lots of work. Thank you so much.
It's 2022 and Spotify hasn't solved this very simple problem. Then you have users flocking to Youtube Music or Amazon Music and you start wondering why.
5 years later and this has not been implemented. Such a simple feature.
This is NOT a solution 😕
I recently found a workaround, works on the Desktop app (don't know about Smartphone):
Open your designated playlist while the song you want to add is playing, "grab" the song while playing from the bottom left corner of the app (where it shows artist, title, etc.), and then you can pull it to the desired position.
I remember the shoes to be an option and it was removed. Another option that was removed is by using a Samsung keyboard being able to use the microphone to say what song you're looking for I recently had to change to gboard and then fix the issue but Spotify said that there was no way they could fix that issue and it would never come back. So if you have the issue of where you can't use your microphone on your keyboard for Android use gboard.
That is not what is being asked for. Whats being asked for is when you add a song to a playlist, it goes to the top, not the bottom.
