We Need The Ability To Fully Remove All Listening History On A Song/ Artist

We need to ability to remove a song from our account's history. Songs accidently left on overnight/ background 'sounds' completely ruin our algorithms and account statistics. My friend left a song on my TV without me knowing for 4 days and all of a sudden it's broken my recommendations and has taken a high place on my account statistics and rankings. Currently, the only solution to fix this and what we get recommended would be to make a new account which is a shame. This feature is a necessity!

For all those who post their yearly Spotify Wrapped statistics on their socials, imagine, "8 Hours of Rainforest sounds for sleep and relaxation," coming 1st in all categories...

Hiya Kain244, so Spotify does not EXACTLY provide a feature to delete individual songs or artists from your listening history. However, there are a few workarounds you can try to improve your recommendations and account statistics:

  1. Clear your entire listening history: While there is no option to delete individual songs or artists from your listening history, you can clear your entire history by going to your account settings and selecting "Privacy" > "Clear my data." Keep in mind that this will delete all your listening history, and it may take some time for Spotify to rebuild your recommendations.
  2. Use the Private Session mode: This mode allows you to listen to music without it being added to your listening history. To enable it, go to your account settings and toggle on the "Private Session" option. Keep in mind that this mode will only work for the current session and will turn off automatically once you close the app.

  3. Create a new account: If you want to start fresh with your listening history and recommendations, you can create a new Spotify account. However, keep in mind that you will lose your playlists, saved songs, and any other data associated with your old account.

I hope these solutions help improve your Spotify experience. It's also worth noting that Spotify is constantly updating and improving its app, so it's possible that they may introduce a feature to delete individual songs or artists from your listening history in the future.
