Hello @Jsomm. Thanks for posting in the Spotify Community!
Unfortunately, I don't believe Spotify has the ability to retrieve old version of their playlists since they manage so many playlists each and every month. In the meantime, I'll share a neat little trick I've been using to save playlist changes to an archive of sorts.
Using If This Then That (IFTTT) you can setup triggers to automagically archive changes to any playlist you follow. Recipes like the one below can be adapted from saving your Discover Weekly tracks to whatever playlist you'd like to keep archives for.
Hey thanks for your reply and your neat trick. I always used last.fm to scrobble my music, but I didn't link it to spotify yet. Well, I am going to link it again and burry the chance to get back the old playlist.
And to the spotify engineers, I think a lot of people would be happy about a full history of their played songs, not just a short history of a few tracks!
Awesome to hear you know of last.fm for scrobbling as well. I can wholeheartedly recommend you link up your Spotify when you get a chance as it's definitely worth it.
As for your suggestion about full song history, well, I've got good news: there's an idea for just that over in the ideas section! Head on over there using the link below and give it an upvote to let Spotify know you'd like this feature. 🙂
I have the same problem!! Not sure if we're looking for the same playlist but on mine, the second song was "All I need". I loved this playlist so much, I'd be so happy if I could recreate it. It had songs like "Ukiyo", "Fruit Punch", "500 horses", "Tennessee" etc...
