Songs getting removed and added, and then removed again.

So the title should explain what has happened, but what I don't understand is why a whole lirbrary has been removed and then added again for a few months, just to so get removed all in all. There is one album left on the artist page, so are there any legal issues, or is it simply that the artist gets "forgotten" and things just disappear?

Right now am I talking about Michael Stanley Band, that had 10 or so albums a few months ago, then it all got removed, and now there is one live album there. Here's a link to the page
Really hoping for some answers, and maybe even get my music back.

The reason is that the artist or their music label has decided to remove it from Spotify.

The availability of music on Spotify is up to the artist and their music label.
Spotify has no control over what content is available.

Sometimes it is only available in certain countries, while access is blocked to others.
Sometimes the album or song will be unavailable temporary, and come back again later.

I know exactly what you mean and it is very frustrating. I've given away chunks of my vinyl record collection based on what is available on Spotify thinking my vinyl was surplus to requirement and yes, ok it has only been the odd track here and there that has been deleted but who can say what may happen in the future?

Maybe a plethora of artists will leave Spotify en masse and there will be nothing to listen to!!  I've noticed this trend particularly with Disco tracks from the 80's (my favourite decade)  as they will either get substituted with an inferior more recent remix or get dumped completely.
