kun je een pririum acount voor twee mensen gebruiken???|
Spotify introduced the AutoPlay feature recently - the one where the radio starts after a playlist ends. I appreciate people might like this, but I do not. I turned it off, both on my Android phone and Windows 10 desktop. But it didn't turn off. It still plays the radio after the last song in a playlist.
I have reinstalled both applications as per the site instructions.
Any ideas?
This appears to be a new feature rolled out over the past 6 months or so - when reaching the end of a play list, spotify does not stop as before but instead starts a "radio" playing random songs. It is a feature that has been requested by users.
There are two problem with this:
The following changes are proposed:
Hi @hsimah_! Thanks for writing on the Community.
That's odd. Can you let us know which operating systems and Spotify versions you're currently using? Does this happen with a specific playlist? Also, did this start happening after a specific update or event?
We'll see what we can suggest.
I was signed in on a third device at home and it had the autoplay feature enabled. When I turned that one off it stopped happening.
Note, I had not played music on this device in days. I was not using Spotify Connect.
Why did it affect the devices where the feature was turned off?
Why are settings on different devices affecting other devices? Surely the settings I provide on my phone should override any settings I have enabled on my PC. Please explain why this is happening.
Hi @bosi! Thanks for writing on the Community.
We're always testing new things in order to improve our service. We really appreciate your feedback and we'll make sure to pass it on to the right team.
If you ever need us again, don't hesitate to get back to us.
Have a great day 🙂
No worries, @hsimah_. We'll get to the bottom of this.
Can you send us the Spotify versions and operating systems of the devices you're using so we can investigate this further? Is this still happening after you reinstalled the apps? If it's possible, try using a different Spotify account to see if this issue persists.
Also, keep in mind that the settings on your phone app are independent from the settings on your desktop app.
Keep us posted.
What does it mean that this report is now tagged as "not an issue"? It is indeed an issue of magnitude that need to be solved so I expected to get an estimated time plan as reply.
@user-removed
Work PC version: 1.0.48.103.g15edf1ec
Home PC version: 1.0.48.103.g15edf1ec
Android version: 7.6.0.1219 armV7
If I turn autoplay on either of my desktop machines, it will affect the other applications regardless of the setting on the individual devices. I turn autoplay on on my work PC. I fire up Spotify on my phone, select a completely different playlist and wait for the last song to finish. Then the radio starts. The phone has autoplay turned off.
Reinstalling the applications had no effect, I can consistently replicate this behaviour.
So, although I am keeping in mind that the settings on the desktop are independent of the phone app, it appears that they are not for autoplay.
Thanks for the info @hsimah_.
Just to check, were you able to test this behaviour with a different Spotify account?
Let us know how it goes.
@user-removed I will get my girlfriend to update her Spotify tonight and give it a go.
I can still reliably reproduce this issue. Are you unable to do so at Spotify?
Autoplay does not seem to show up on my account settings within the desktop app. However, it shows in my iphone app. How do I get it to show on the desktop app?
Hey @dreyes922,
I'm not seeing anything regarding it in my settings page. What feature are you talking about exactly?
Thanks for getting back to us @hsimah_!
In this case, we'd recommend to restart all your devices. Once you've done it, make sure to follow these steps:
Let us know if this makes any difference. We'll be here to help.
Sophia,
Hi @user-removed,
Thanks for your input. I'll direct you to my original post (I'll quote it for you).

As you can see, I clearly stated I have turned the feature off and that I have reinstalled the applications. And yes, I have restarted the PC and phone, too
I received a notification to update Spotify today and I have now installed version 1.0.49.125.g72ee7853. I now see a notification about autoplay (blue status bar) and I can confirm that turning autoplay on in the application does not affect my phone.
Thanks for that information @hsimah_! We'll help you out.
Just to confirm, is this happening if you play music on a different account? Also, are you playing music on Connect? We'll see what we can suggest.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Sophia,
I agree with bosi's comments. Not expecting this new feature I ended up being woken at 3am because Spotify on my iPad had decided to just keep playing music and landed on a super loud track.
I have disabled the feature on the desktop, but it's still auto-playing after an album finishes. I'd like to be able to disable this feature because it doesn't add value to me.
Disable the feature on all your platforms that are tied with spotify connect, that helped for me.
It has been a week now since I asked for more information from spotify. I would appreciate if spotify would show some interest in solving user problems.
