Being charged by spotify for no reason.

A while ago I signed up for a trial of spotify premium and to my displeasure I didn't see any differences in the program so I just left it alone. I dont often check my account statements, but I recently checked and to my disbelief Ive been charged for a few months now for spotify premium that I dont have access to. According to my account Im not a premium member, but spotify is charging me and I dont know how to cancel this pos service... Im so livid right now... What the hell am I supposed to do?

That sounds like the problem I'm having and we're not the only ones... Spotify created a duplicate free account and assigned it to my Facebook login, but still charge for the premium account. Because I cant login to the premium account,I can't use the extra features and I can't cancel it. Support have been massively unhelpful. My support ticket has been open since early February.

I'd suggest getting in touch with the spotify support team by using the online contact form or by tweeting @SpotifyCares on twitter. If you are unable to login, then use the alternative form.

 

If you get an auto reply back directing you to the help pages, just reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the employees will get back to you as soon as possible.

I started to fill out a student premium account, but stopped halfway through.  Spotify charged me, but I don't have premium.

I cancelled my subscription at 10:40 pm on April 23rd and was still charged the monthly fee on April 26th. I can't fnd a contact number anywhere for customer support, no email option, nothing. Just these stupid forums. It's driving me insane. I am contacting the BBB about them and filing a fradulance charge with my bank. 

I am going to see the same. I'm surprsied that such a well known company is so fradulent with NO PHONE NUMBER available. They reply to your emails with a stock message saying "I'm sure you got help from this." Really? Well actually no I didn't!!! 

Support usually replies within 24-48 hours.

If you still need help,

Did you get a confirmation email from the contact form? It should be similar to "Spotify Support Case #XXXXXXX". If so, reply back to that email and tell them you still need help.

 

If you got an automated reply email telling you to check the help section or the community, you need to reply back to it saying you still need help, even if it's from a no-reply address.

 

If you never got an email, look in your spam folder to see if there is an email in there. Make sure you are checking the email account you used to sign up to Spotify. You can check the email on your account here.

Thanks, genius. I figured that out... which is why I was on here getting the link for the email again. But if you had read my comment in the first place, you would have known that I was looking for a way to contact customer service so suggesting that i contact them was a little redundant. makes me wonder if you have preset message waiting for people so that you just suggest everyone contacts them.....

im having a similar problem spotify charged me $5.99 and there isnt even a single service on their website for that price. how do i dispute this? did they ever refund your money too?

I actually had to report the fraudulent activity to my bank and they had to cancel that card. They had said its common.

I had to dispute it with my bank and pay for a stop payments for the company. They refunded the money but it ended up costing me more to stop payments indefinitely. As well as a month of paperwork.

I had the charge reflect on my banks transaction history but it didn't come up on the "Reciept" section on my spotify account, the transaction said it "encountered an error" and i still had the charge only pending. But, i got an email from them yesterday stating that i was charged for the student account. im now just waiting on my banks end of the transaction. i thanked them for responding to me.
