Deleted offline storage

I'm in China at the moment and so access the Interwebs through a VPN. I got a message to say that my offline storage has been removed from this device, so I switched back to a VPN I was using before and it removed the message. However, now I need to go and download all my offline playlists again, which will take a LONG time.

How come this happens? Is there any way to stop it as I don't want to have to re-download them again later on

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂 

You can only have your device in offline mode for a maximum of 30 days before your offline content is removed. So you need to just go online with Spotify at least once a month to verify your subscription is still active and your offline content should stay downloaded.
