Subscription downgrade completely reset EVERYTHING

There must have been an issue with the card used for my subscription, as I was suddenly downgraded to a free sub last night. This appears to have totally resest everything. 

 

I had to log back in completely

I wasn't able to stay logged in unless I took the "Getting Started" tour

All of my friend favorites and subscriptions were de-listed

All of my starred tracks are gone.

All of my playlists have vanished.

 

What the heck happened? Everything was just fine yesterday, now it's all gone, and I had to re-sub to get Premium back up. About 5 minutes too soon, too, because it keeps insisting on giving me 30 days free and then telling me I'm not eligible.

 

This crap is driving me crazy. How do I fix it?!

Sounds like the dupicate account issue.

A moderator should be able to sort you out if that thread doesn't.

I've had my account tied to Facebook since pretty much day one, 6+ months now.. I can't remember the account details at t all for the login info I created when I first signed up,. and am unable to reset my password at all, it just refers me to my facebook account details. 

In that case you'll have to wait for a moderator to sort you out.

 

In the meantime, fill in a contact form here.

 

Then post your case number on this thread so that when a moderator does pass by they'll be able to help you as quickly as possible.

 

Although you might have had your Facebook account linked for sometime, some people have still had this problem. It's an ongoing issue still be looked into by Spotify.

 

[Edit: On a side note, if you've re-subscribed you may find you've been charged twice for this month... but again a moderator will be able to get it sorted for you.]

 

[Edit again: In fact, I believe the official line on this is that you should fill in a contact form, and they will take it from there... instead of creating yet more threads on the same problem. But if your post is spotted by a moderator, they might be able to chase up your case for you if you post the case number...]

Oh, I didn't see the link on that post to contact support. I'll try that. 

 

ed-- and I did see the posts about duplicate accounts, but they were from months ago and it seemed a distinctly different issue from mine from the way they read.

I actually had the same thing today. I logged in with my username instead of e-mail and everything came back.

I'm having the same thing and I don't remember what I used to log in originally. Thanks for the instructions and I will use the form to ask for help.

Magpie_9 - I could only seem to locate one account. Do you have any other email addresses you might have used to create an account at all?

It's possible. I followed the instructions sent to my email, but because I don't remember either the Spotify username or password I got when I first subscribed, I'm forced to try to log in via FB, and that's where I get hooked into the FREE account. Is there any way my original info can be retrieved? Maybe that will help?

Ok guys, you just resent me the same "solution" as before (pasted below, with responses inline), and this time I changed my FB password, and it still logs me in  under the free account. I simply can't believe that you aren't able to help me. I really don't want to cancel my subscription, because of all the work I put into my playlists, but if I can't use Spotify then it's money down the drain. If you can't help me then there's no hope of my retrieving the playlists anyway. I'll give it until Monday and if you really can't be more helpful than resending the same instructions, I'm just gonna give you up. And I won't be recommending you anytime soon. Sorry to be harsh and I'm sure it's not your fault, whoever is reading this, but I gotta keep movin here.

 

By the way, I can't "reenter" my FB password. The password has to be different.

If this link doesn't work:

  1. Log on to The Spotify Community. DID THAT
  2. Click My Profile. IT SEEMS TO BE CALLED PERSONAL PROFILE, BUT OK, DID THAT.
  3. Click the Subscriptions & Bookmarks tab. DID THAT.
  4. Change your settings and click Save Changes. CHANGE MY SETTINGS TO WHAT??

Okay I'm still not getting the help I need. Please, I really really want to fix this. I really love my Spotify but can't use it.

 

Here's what I know.

 

- I seem to have two accounts, one free (which is what I'm logged in through right now) and one paid. I think they both use stm.edit@gmail.com as an email.

- I have one subscription, but I cannot access this subscription because it's through a facebook account that I no longer have access to. I even have a receipt of the subscription when it started (November last year).

- When I log in, I'm told my usesrname or password doesn't exist. When I click reset password, it tells me to use my facebook login, and that directs me to the free account no matter what I do.

 

PLEASE help me! I will be forced to cancel my subscription and lose all my great playlists if you don't, and I will be really really sad.
