Hey 🙂

To my knowledge the free trial is only available to accounts which have never had a subscription before, and in that case you would not be eligable.

Try going to https://www.spotify.com/freetrial/‎ and see if it will let you!

Thanks for this.

Link is https://www.spotify.com/freetrial/

that link directs me to "Upgrade" page.

"You have 26 days left on your Spotify Unlimited subscription, these will be converted to 13 days of Spotify Premium. After 13 days you will be billed £9.99 per month"

I dont understand this.

Say if i wanted to use Premium for 28 days, on the 28th day, i would convert to Unlimited, and what would be the total cost for premium?

£20? or more close to £9.99?

thankyou

No matter what way you upgrade, you will pay £9.99 for a month of premium (or pro rated in the case of converting unlimited days to premium since you wouldn't get a full month).

Since you have unlimited days left, the system would convert those to premium days (so you get half as many) and then bill you £9.99 for the next month of premium.

right, i see, thanks.

So if i will be using Premium for 30 days, I pay in the middle somewhere £9.99, after unlimited days are converted, say on day 15, then after 15 more days, I convert back to Unlimited, then the surplus Premium credit will carry over to the Unlimited ongoing days, if you know what I mean? I mean when i Pay £9.99, from that day, i wont wanna be using Premium for 30 days, it will be more close to half that period.

Here is what I would expect to happen:

You upgrade now, your 26 days of unlimited will be converted to 13 days of premium.

After those 13 days of premium, you will be billed 9.99 for 1 month of premium.

During that one month, you are free to downgrade to unlimited at any time however your account will remain on premium until the next renewal date on your account, so 30 days after you pay the 9.99 your account would revert to unlimited, as which time you would be billed 4.99 (or whatever unlimited costs in your area).

thanks,

sorry, so the total cost would be around £10 for 30 days usage?

30 days on premium AFTER i pay £10 does not make sense.

as ill have the 13 days premium usage, + 30 days, thats MORE than £10 in theory.

doesnt really matter, i want to try it anyway, so ill upgrade the day before travel, then downgrade on my return.

thankyou

oh i think i get it,

my current £5 gets converted to half a month of Premium, then after £10 payment, ill downgrade when i have around

£5 credit left, that money will give me a month of Unlimited.

Can I do this: ?

Upgrade NOW, test it out for a day or two, if it works, stick with it, all good.

But, if it doesnt work, properly as i want it to, because my phone is old and slow, then i can downgrade to Unlimited again,

after 2 days testing, and i will only have paid for 2 days of Premium, ? i wont be stuck with a month of Premium usage?

can i sync diff playlists to laptop for offline use, to the ones on mobile phone?

That won't work I'm afraid, since there is no way to convert unused premium days to unlimited like you can do with unlimited days to premium when you upgrade. As you mentioned above, you will end up with more than 30 days on premium since those already paid for unlimited days get converted, but you will only be billed an extra 9.99 for the time you are on premium.
