What happens when premium subscription is canceled?

Does Spotify go back to just 2,5 hours a week of play with ads?

Or does it return to 6 months of unlimited streaming with ads?

Hey 🙂

After you cancel your subscription, you will have access to any premium time that you have paid for. After that, your account will return to the free plan. If you have had your account for more than 6 months (including premium time), then you are subject to the restrictions outlined here.
