premium, non-facebook user wants to share tracks

I have an old premium account with a non-facebook username. I used to be able to easily send tracks on any device to people I have in my favorites list by hitting the share button and typing in their name. I briefly connected my account with facebook, but have recently quit facebook all together. Now the share button no longer seems to work for me. How do I share tracks with people I have been connected to long before this facebook integration?

They made it a bit harder to send music without Facebook for some reason. It happened in an update.

Now, you click the share button, then choose "Send to friend". Then the old share screen should appear and you can type in a username or Facebook real name like before.

yes, i was aware of that update. but even when i am in the correct "Send to friend" window, and type in the user or fb name exactly, the name i've just typed disappears and the "send" button remains greyed out.

i have noticed, however that i can send tracks by going through the user's page, and searching for the track from there. this is a major inconvinience though, bc you typically want to share when you're listening to something, which is why i'd like to be able to use the normal share button attached to each track...

I tried it myself now, I can actually replicate your problem.

You must have the user on your people list. If you don't have them, go to their profile (type spotify:user:username on the search bar) and click "Add username" at the top right.

When your friend is on your people list, start typing their username or facebook name and a list of names should appear with your friend's name on it. Click the name and it gets added to the recipient box inside a blue circle.

but yes, as i said, this used to work for me before, so i am trying to send things to people already in my people/favorites list. the trouble is that that blue name you're showing in your screen grab doesn't show up for me anymore. nothing shows up--which is why the "send" button continues to be greyed out.
