Airpods as a car

After the last update, my airpods are recognized as a car, so Spotify automatically turns into car mode (with the different screen and auto-play). What happened? How do I fix this?

Are you still having this issue?

You can go into the Spotify app settings and under Car there should be a way to disable Car Mode from automatically turning on each time.

Also, have you added a custom name for your AirPods in the AirPods settings?

Another user said they had the word "Mustang" in the custom name for their AirPods and the same thing happened to them. Try renaming your AirPods if you have a name that can be similar to a car brand in the name.
