Does anyone have any experience with the original Car Thing?

Picture listed below. I am having issues connecting this device to what I am assuming is the included cellular service. The UI hard blocks you from being able to go into settings until a wireless connection can be made. I am assuming that this would be impossible to do as the cellular service is likely no longer provided for by Spotify. Any tips on getting this thing to work??
