How to "Remove" Car Thing?

How to "Remove" Car Thing?

I have the latest Android version of Spotify and successfully connected the Car Thing to the app and it works ok.

But, because the Car Thing does not have a "Hide" button or even support "Hide this song" voice command, this is a deal breaker for me.

So, I have removed the car thing from my car and will be returning it.

But now the spotify app keeps "looking" for the car thing when I start it.

If I go into the Car Thing section of the app, it lists the car things's app and OS versions even when it's not connected to the car thing because it's not powered on. So, somehow the car thing is still "registered" in the app (which is different than being bluetooth paired)

So, how do I "Remove" (unlink?) the car thing from the spotify app (besides deleting the bluetooth pairing)?

You should be able to do this from the Car thing following the steps below:

  • Press the Settings button on the top-right of the device.
  • Select Phone Connection
  • Forget Phone to remove a phone

Let us know how it goes.

This doesn't work. I've tried to factory reset the car thing several times as well.

What a waste of money. I see why these were discontinued
