It keeps disconnecting from bluetooth

I've been trying to set it up in my car, it's a 2006 Honda Civic so I still have to connect my phone through aux in order to play the music. The power outlet for the car thing is the voltage that is required, so when I plug in everything, the car thing starts glitching with the Spotify logo and keeps switching screens to the "Get Started" page. When I finally am able to tap it and get the QR code, I scan it through my phone, which is an Iphone 11 updated to ios 15.5, and it takes me to the settings to connect the car thing to my phone via bluetooth, and when it finally pairs, it says connected on the car thing and then my phone switches to the Spotify page, but once it switches to the Spotify page, it disconnects from the car thing which makes the car thing start glitching with the Spotify logo page. The spotify logo page constantly goes on and then off and my phone won't connect anymore to the car thing. I also have Spotify premium and live in the US.

First off, we'd suggest that you check if your mobile app is up to date. In case it's not - head here and see how to update it as this might fix it.

It's also a good idea to take a look at this support article as you can find some more troubleshooting steps there. 

Lastly, we'd recommend taking your Car Thing indoors and connecting it to your Wi-Fi network to check if there is pending update on the device. If you see one - make sure to install it. It'd be best if you leave the Car thing connected for several hours to check if you notice any difference after that.
