Hey, friends! We've been hard at working finding the best podcasts for you to add to your listening list, and we've got a real winner on our hands this week. 

 

From Catalina May and Adonde Media, this is Las Raras

 

Las Raras is a Latin-American, documentary-style podcast all about people who challenge norms for the sake of social justice and the greater good. Host Catalina May, a Chilean journalist, speaks with all manner of of powerful and brilliant people, including artists, teachers, scientists, mothers, and so many others fighting to make a difference in Latin areas AND the US. 

 

As if that wasn't enough, Las Raras has collaborated with NPR’s Radio Ambulante, PRI’s The World, and Carne Cruda from Spain. It has been recognized with various awards and grants, including funding from the International Women's Media Foundation.

 

We were so excited to come across this show that we just had to share it with you all. What's more-- the second half of their sixth season is about to begin, complete with more inspiring stories of social greatness. After suffering a miscarriage, María Teresa Rivera is sentenced to 40 years in prison. What's worse, she is not the only Salvadoran who experiences this type of criminalization. But with the help of a support network, she decides to stand up against antiquated laws and prove her innocence.
