Sad news announced today with the death of British drummer Ginger Baker.
Ginger Baker, was born August 18, 1939. He was co-founder of the famous Rock band Cream with Eric Clapton. His work during the 60s gave him the reputation of "First Rock Superstar Drummer". His style was a mix of Jazz, Fusion, African Rhythms, World Music. Another feature of his style was his use of two bass drums instead of the conventional one.

During his career, Baker has been playing with many bands or artists as : Blues Incorporated / the Graham Bond Organisation / Cream / Ginger Baker's Air Force / Blind Faith / Ginger Baker and Friends / Baker Gurvitz Army / Fela Kuti / Hawkwind / Public Image Ltd. / Atomic Rooster / Masters of Reality / BBM / Ginger Baker Trio.
He used, to performe long drum solos, most notably in the Cream song Toad.

He was inducted in the Modern Drummer Hall of Fame in 2008 and the Classic Drummer Hall of Fame in 2016.
