I only gave Clown Core a chance because i was tired of youtube recommending it, am forever grateful that i did and have the hope that if more people do too, heavier music might not be dismissed so quickly [and yes, it is one thing to hear them but to see them play (Louis does drums and keyboard at the same time) and realize there are sometimes actual lyrics - they have videos for many of their tracks on YT]. Two clowns in a minivan being driven; drums, keyboards, saxophones and clown horns; short songs, often hilarious but not just a farce - serious talent on display. https://open.spotify.com/track/6izX4jKOXNfHHIsOL7YkzF?si=yYdibOYLQJ6mtNzQPaFxEQ
A fine line between "experimental" and "just noise" but this remix of a metal song is unlike anything else i've heard (and i try to make a point to have a diverse taste in tunes), and it has almost a full minute of not-cacophony for those who stick with it. Poignant lyrics and an apparent method to the madness of composition renders the song title almost ironic. https://open.spotify.com/track/2JCROlcp1xOfovuJ6VnO8J?si=mYzGDONbQ8KHuh0lBJC4Qw
They're already a big and popular band, but you get a lot of people who've heard one or two songs from them and decided they didn't like them. But really the variation between each album, there's something for everyone
I think there is a collection of artists and bands that should be checked out. If anything, it will just help you figure out and make connections in the music you listen to yourself, like the Beatles has a song named "Tomorrow Never Knows" and there's also a band named the Mamas and the Papas with those wonderful effortless vocals, and then you listen to the song you love to listen to - Figueroa's "Back to the Stars", and you can hear where the artist might have drawn influences from.
The titles, the album art, maybe the lyrics or some choices in live performance among other things may make better sense when you have some knowledge on influential artists.
As of what artists and bands everyone should listen to... I can't make anyone listen to anyone because people have the inherent "I know my way" attitude 😄 but i guess... i don't know! I'm also trying to find out more, but i guess artists like Miles Davis, the Beatles, the Prodigy, Nancy Sinatra, David Bowie, Lorn, the Rolling Stones, etc etc. endless list, I should say. : )
I'm pretty sure it would be best to figure out / find out what artists your favourite acts are influenced or inspired by and then expand around that..

Both of these artists. Mod Sun's lyrics are so inspirational and positive. His stuff really changes your outlook on life. nothing, nowhere. writes some of the deepest lyrics I've ever heard and his songs are very easy to relate to.
