So I'm a gamer, as I'm sure many people are. I sometimes enjoy hearing my own music in game. I would love to have spotify be linked into GTA V, or The Sims 4 and hear my spotify library out of the radio with GTA ads mixed between songs or any other game that allows custom music. Obviously implementing something on every platform is a silly idea. What about releasing an API, then you need to get developers on board and you can only support new products. The solution? A .mp3 file is linked to a streamable URL that can do a few things:
- It can be controlled via Connect from either a Desktop, or Cell Phone
- It can shuffle the song library no questions asked
- It can be programmed via the in-app settings.
What can you do with this .MP3?
Well you can share it with your friends and you can all listen to the same music at the same time. There is no authentication required for the .mp3 as it has no control over what is being played. Just streaming it. Any application I use that loads custom .mp3 files would theoritacally work. Spotify could be in Eurotruck simulator, GTA V and GTA IV and GTA: San Andreas, The Sims 2, 3, and 4. These games all have huge user bases. This would add to the usability of Spotify ten fold.
