Hello Team,

as i wrote in the subject, i would like to request you to create a second kind of german language setting, one "traditional german" option and one "gender sensitve" option for those who like this more than the traditional german.

For me i have to say that the gender sensitive variant of the german language is really hard to read and gives with every star within the words an opstacle.

Lately, two well known and recognized organizations gave recommendation who to proceed with „gender dialects“ and both stated NOT to use characters like *_: with reference to non-binary gender, because there simply is no linguistic reference in the German language, which common people here and elsewhere said for two years now.
So Spotify, stop this charade and give us back standard (High) German!

🙂Stop complaining about it and just leave for a better streaming service with normal German language (like Ti....) ! I canceled my sub years ago already only because of this gender sh!t and it wasn't any problem.

Spotify doesn't give a **bleep** about what users want.

I just want to open it again. The approach of ideologized language does not fit the valid rules of the german language and therefore it disturbs the whole experience with your service if language settings are set to "German".

Please understand that noone want's to cancel that custom version of the german language a minority of people share and use (it's actually only 10% of the population). We just want to have the native german language added back as an option. This wouldn't be so hard as you only have to remove everyting like "*innen".

I'd volunteer for the job of i18n that, if it's a matter of staff costs.

Just don't ignore over SEVENHUNDRED upvotes for that idea!

Please consider that idea. It's not hard to implement and would make the experience of Spotify better for the majority of your german customers.

Hey everyone,

It seems that this idea ended up in the wrong board accidentally, so we're bringing it back.

We're keeping the previous Case Closed status, as we don't have any immediate plans to implement this. As soon as we have any new information to share, rest assured we'll check back in here.

I am annoyed from the gendered version and it makes me feel incomfortable.

I suggest to publish a german language versuon without gender stars and so on and allow a traditional version.

There is a large community that does not support gender language and feel it very annoying. I also think that gender language is destroying the clear structure of the german language and I feel it difficult to read. Furthermore, I get a bad mood when reading gender language and sometimes I was thinking to cancel my subscription therefore (what I did with other media for that reason). However, the advantages of Spotify predominate the disadvantages of gender language.

I suggest to support two versions (gender and non gender version of german version). Probably also to prevent a loss of subscribers?
