[All Platforms] Remember Position in Playlist / Album

Please remember the current song playing in a playlist so if I switch away to a different playlist and then switch back, Spotify will know where I left off.

I often can't finish a playlist right away or my mood changes so I might switch to a different playlist. Later, I want to finish the previous playlist, not start over again.

Hey everyone,

This idea accidentally ended up in the wrong board, so we're moving it back here.

We're keeping the Not Right Now status as we don't have any immediate plans to implement this. As soon as we have any new information to share, rest assured we'll check back in here.

Take care.

This or even implementing a played status on tracks that you have already listened to , discovering new music shouldn't have to be such hard work

Lots of activity and good feedback from Spotify customers on this question lately... The key question is, of course, are those who can do something about it listening to us??

this feature needs to be implemented, if I am midway through a playlist I can't listen to anything else without knowing where I was in the playlist - maybe the listened to tracks could be dimmed similar to the ones that are unavailabe ones?

Get used to this not being a feature. Its been over a year since I posted
about this a and Spotify hasnt done anything about it.

@groupama3, I like your idea about dimmed tracks to show which songs you've already listened to, but I think Spotify already uses that to indicate which tracks are unavailable. Instead, maybe Spotify could use a green line to indicate the location in the playlist or album where you last left off? Here's a mock-up:

Could someone from Spotify tell us why this feature isn't implemented? This could maybe help cope with this unbearable situation.

Excellent idea. Come on Spotify, listen to your customers. I like to create large master playlists as I go along and then listen to the songs  in order as and when I have the time. If I stop after a certain number of songs the last song played will be highlighted in green next time I look, making it easy to know where I left off. However this only happens if I don't play any other songs on Spotify in between the playlist sessions. If for instance I go to a different playlist or chart or whatever and play a track, the next time I go back to my master playlist the green highlighting is no longer on the last played track. I then have to scroll through and try and find the last played song manually. It would be great if it was possible to mark the last played song in a playlist in such a way that when you come back to it, it can be easily found without the need to trawl through all the other songs, even if you play other songs in between.

Seems to me there have been many more requests for this feature since Spotify posted their brazen notice that they're not planning to implement it. Come on guys, you have paying customers out there and you are not listening to them. Let's get this must-have feature implemented ASAP.

I like this one - I was just merely suggesting the greyed out option as it is something they have already been using - well done 🙂
