I know this case has been reviewed in the past but since this case was last reviewed many high schools now give students email addresses so now Spotify can confirm through this method. Another reason is that Spotify's competition, Apple Music, is already offering this discount. With Spotify only offering this discount to college students they are losing many potential high school customers since $5 a month is an affordable price. This plan can also help marketing since Spotify has had most of the same deals for a while now and with something new to bring in more customers and draw more attention to the company this will greatly help Spotify in the long run. There are certain issues with verifying high school students but if the competition is allowing high school students to get a discount why should Spotify allow their competition to hold this over them? I strongly believe bringing a student discount to Spotify will benefit not only the customers but the company itself and will bring in a lot of business for Spotify and is the smart choice for the company to make.
