[Community][Other] Do not close ideas until the customer has accepted so

Please do not close new ideas until agreement with the customer that placed the idea. That is common netiquette. It is not polite to refer to an 8 year old idea that is forgotten.

We've reviewed this idea that previously was set to Good Suggestion by one of our Community Stars and will be closing it.

As much as we would love to make all ideas a reality, this is simply not possible and we cannot have ideas remain open endlessly and have an infinite number of idea threads in the boards.

This will generate clutter, make moderation impossible, searching ideas will not be useful and new ideas will be drowned out by the constant influx of new ones, which in turn will again not be visible to users due to the sheer amount. To back this up with data - we receive around 200 new idea submissions each week.

This is not sustainable and we're currently actively looking into revamping the Idea Exchange process, but can from now say that there will always be the necessity to close threads after a certain amount of time.

We'll make sure to post information on how the Idea Exchange is changing as we finalize the revamp and will update the relevant Guidelines. Take care!

Take a moment to think whether you want customers, paying customers. If you want to keep your customers and attract more customer, you should be more careful with putting up "rules", and especially accuse customers for "breaking" your "rules". Instead, try to think why the customer wrote that idea, and what would happen to your image if you meet the customer needs with respect.

This! 

I had an idea about lyrics. It got 22 votes in two weeks and could easily have reached the ''50 votes in 3 months'' mark. But it had been merged with an 8 months old idea because it was similar, and now it suddenly needs to reach 500 votes!

Problem is that this older idea was suggested when the lyrics option wasn't globally available yet. So it's only logical it doesn't get enough votes in time. And now the idea doesn't get attention anymore because it's gone from the live idea section.

 

I've seen this happen with other lyrics ideas as well. Just because an idea didn't reach enough votes in record time the first time it was suggested, doesn't mean it won't the second time. There are some really good idea's that are being ignored like this just because of poor timing.

 

If anything just remove this rule ''Bonus: We’ll also be looking at ideas that might have been closed initially due to not enough votes but eventually have reached 500 +Votes in under 18 months.'' 

If an idea has not reached 180 +Votes in 6 months just close it. And just let new but similar idea's undergo the new idea cycle all over again. Because now we have to wait one and a half years to have a fair shot again at getting the idea read by Spotify.

I agree. Also, if you're referred to another post that had a "similar" idea and it's poorly written or not explained well, then you're out of luck. Pretty ridiculous.

This is really bad, and when looking for the idea, or in the suggestions as we type, the similar idea posted earlier does not always appear.

 

🇧🇷 Isso é bem ruim mesmo, e ao buscar a ideia, ou nas sugestões enquanto digitamos, nem sempre aparece a ideia semelhante postada anteriormente

Nope, you'll just mark the idea as "new" again once it has gathered the necessary amount of votes in case you don't like the idea.

there or ideas that ar closes but gathered in time over 1000 votes and more, so there is a large community longing for these features but what do you do with those ideas? ther are closed and never looked upon? And the new simular idea gots closed because it was simular !!! **bleep** ! so user friendly ! don't get me wrong, spotify is great but with some some changes a large community of music lovers/collectors would appreciate this so much !
