[Desktop] Equalizer for the Desktop Version

There should be an Equalizer for the Desktop version of Spotify.

EQ1.png

Since Spotify's mobile apps now have an EQ setting, this should be implemented on the desktop version, too!
The EQ should come with various presets but also the ability to save your own custom settings.

Hey folks,

Thanks for coming to the Spotify Idea Exchange and voting to make this happen.

We're happy to announce that the Equalizer option is now available on desktop - and is gradually rolling out to all users over the next week. You will be able to play around and customize the sound of your music for a better listening experience by toggling your Equalizer on your computers.

Once again, thanks for helping us make Spotify better, by participating here on the Community.

Absolutely is a must. Tempted to leave the service as we listen 90% on desktop in our office.

Yep, they're just (still) taking all the users for a walk down the garden path. Nothing is happening, the answer is always the same, which is never really any kind of answer. This thread must be viral among the community by now, and still, spotify does nothing.

You can bet there is going ot be a price increase before any of us ever see anything remotely resembling an EQ, just like what Netflix is doing.

I've just asked Google a very simple question, and the answer is >>

Family Sharing in Apple Music is an extension of the Family Sharing feature that debuted with iOS 8 last year. This feature lets families have up to six Apple IDs linked up to one credit card, so purchases in iTunes, iBooks and the App Store can all be shared without having to share the same Apple ID.

Since Apple Music is baked into iOS, the settings to change EQ for your Apple Music playback (or just standard iTunes playback) is found in the Settings app. ... Apple doesn't let you fine-tune EQ settings formusic playback in the same way Spotify does, so instead you'll haveto choose from one of the presets.

So, I don't know how good the EQ will be on Apple Music/Tunes/Whatever (not really an apple person), but if it works on Windows I'm probably going switch this week. My hesitation was the family plan, but as it says above, apparently you can also have a family plan with Apple!

AAAARRRGGGHHH!!!

(and an extra couple here: Aargh!! argh!)

My new headphones have too much bass and I would love to be able to adjust with an equalizer. Please put in that functionality. If you wanted to be really clever, you could make it so that there are different presets based on whether one is listening through the computer, or bluetooth headphones A or bluetooth headphones B or whatever. Even the dumpy music players have some sort of equalizer, so it makes sense that the best music player should have one too.

I have been using and testing both Spotify and Apple music with the family plan for the last year and it's super frustrating. Full stop. Apple Music through iTunes and EQ on Mac & PC sounds significantly better than Spotify (especially if you have a decent speaker system and can appreciate the sound quality). There's no comparison. I am still using Spotify though because I personally find the playlists and Music discovery of Spotify superior. I just wish they would get their sh_t together when it comes to sonic quality. It's 2017 and there's no excuse.

How is this not a priority? iTunes had EQ forever now. Mobile app having it but not the desotop is also a weird planning. EQ is essential for any music player, be it real or digital. I've been working on transfering my library, switching to Spotify but this is a deal breaker.

I really don´t understand how a music app like this one doesn´t have equalizer...very disappointing

It should be in one of your most priority list since you are making a music app. Coz, this community is waiting for this update for such a long time(since 2015). I believe it shouldn't be too hard for a quite big development team... maybe you should check your dev team again huh? Fire some maybe???

One would think this would be included since the beginning without the need to beg for it, come on, release it already as it make a lot of difference!

we need this, i have high-end speakers for my computer as well and i need an equalizer for the bass
