It's wonderful that Spotify has the ability to tailor playlists based on sounds, artists, etc. by computers, but sometimes the algorithm makes the sound TOO specific. Humans have an ability to capture emotion, range, patterns, etc. and can create a wider range of playlists that tailor to that emotion/goal, while simultaneously allowing the users to discover new artists. I know users can submit playlists, but it would be cool if Spotify had employees to curate playlists. 8tracks did a fantastic job of creating the right playlists and I think it was because it was made by the people for the people.
Thanks for bringing your feedback to the Idea Exchange.
We’re closing this idea since this is already a feature - playlist editors manually choose a larger number of tracks to be included in the playlist, curated by Spotify. You can have a look at them here.
If you think your idea should be considered as separate, feel free to submit it again highlighting how your idea is distinct from the existing feature.
