I want to share the idea of adding an option to disable music streaming via cellular data in the iOS app, thus preventing Spotify from automatically switching from Wifi-Streaming to cellular-data-streaming, but -still- allow Spotify to share your activity or scrobbling to last.fm.
As for now, Spotify only leaves to options to safely prevent the usage of cellular data: 1. Spotify's offline mode, and 2. denying Spotify permissions to use cellular data in iOS settings. Both of these options have the disadvantage that last.fm scrobbling or sharing with followers won't work if you are not using WiFi.
So, suppose I download playlists and want to listen to them on the go while I'm nowhere near a WiFi, and also want to scrobble to last.fm what I am listening to (or share it with my followers). But: I also want to make -absolutely- sure that Spotify does not stream via cellular data without my knowing or being aware of. There is actually no option known to me for this scenario.
So please, a simple "Don't stream music using cellular data" option would be gladly appreciated.
