Spotify used to be my favorite way to listen to and discover music. That's because it used to be a music platform. The Home page did a great job of recommending old favorites I hadn't listened to in a while, current favorites I'm replaying regularly, and new music I've never heard before but fits with my tastes.
Lately, however, my home feed has been nothing but podcast recommendation after podcast recommendation, with maybe two rows total being music -- and not even music related to my listening trends.
Granted, I did recently start listening to my podcasts in Spotify. But yesterday, when I realized that's all that Spotify is recommending to me now, I unsubscribed from all podcasts on Spotify and I've now switched to another app for my podcasts, in an attempt to curb the podcast recommendations and get music back at the center of my homepage again.
If Spotify returns my home page to being music-centered, I may consider moving back to it for my podcasts. But if this keeps up, then not only will my podcast listening remain elsewhere, there's a good chance that I'll look elsewhere for music as well.
