Personalized Ringtones Based on User Music

Hello Spotify,

I would like to suggest a feature that could greatly enhance the user experience on your platform:

the ability to create personalized ringtones for calls and alarms using music from the user’s Spotify library.

1. Custom ringtone for each contact

Users could assign a specific song, artist, or playlist to individual contacts.

For example:

• My dad loves Indochine: when he calls me, I would love my phone to play a snippet from an Indochine song.
• Users could also enable a “random” mode so that every time a contact calls, a different track from the selected artist or playlist is played.

This creates a ringtone that reminds us of the person, adds emotional value, and makes incoming calls feel more personal and meaningful.

2. Dynamic alarm tones

The same concept could apply to alarms:

• Choose an artist, playlist, or genre
• Wake up with a different song every day or at a chosen frequency
• Start the morning with music that matches the user’s taste

3. Benefits for Spotify

• Highly customizable feature that users would love
• Highlights and deepens the use of personal music libraries
• New interaction possibilities within the app
