We all know that a random selection or a poorly ordered collection can have you seeking another tune and then skipping to find something you like knocking you off your groove or focus. We also know that sometimes we want to change the direction of our tune choice - more vibes, more chilled, stepping it up.
Why not have a feature where we can use the key of the song to ‘Order by key progression’ and create these journeys through our music without key clash or too much mood bang. Then you could add personalities into the key progression and tempo based on what you are feeling or needing based so you get that ability the adjust the direction of your listen. Things like, “getting ready to party” = stepping up the tempo, bringing some focus and excitement; or “needing to concentrated” = keeping the tempo consistent, removing vocals, looking for increasingly longer songs.
Spotify is great, but this could make it your listening companion for your journey through tasks. Given the amount of song data you have this can’t be some massive machine learning exercise, probably just an extension of discovery capabilities but making a bit core feature in the playlist selection of the mood choices.
