This is not new idea as such, older ideas have gone stale.
Implement hidden search feature or checkbox that would allow enabling strict matching in search.
So if the option is enabled searching for "foo" would not find "Foo Fighters".
My particular use case is that if there's misplaced album, I would like to do quick check if there are (obscure) artists with same name. Now there's no good way to be sure if search returns lot of nonsortable results.
I have seen also discussion that people actually try to search for those obscure artists and have to resort to workaround like searching with album name.
If the feature is not a checkbox, it needs to be documented in https://support.spotify.com/is/using_spotify/the_basics/search/
Otherwise people won't use the feature as there's no way to know it exists.
