Spotify remote

Is it possible to make an app on iphone to control the music that we are listening to from the computer ? As iTunes has already done with the app "remote", could spotify do the same ?

i love the idea of a spotify remote to control my computer with my iphone. can anyone tell me when this will be available and if there's any temporary apps out there that work similarly that i can use in the mean time, spotify actually does release and app like the remote.
