Spotify should take official ownership of the Linux Flatpak package

Terminology:

- Flatpak is a packaging system that allows developers to distribute their apps on Linux (which works regardless of the user's distribution).

- Flathub is the most popular store that hosts flatpaks, and the Spotify flatpak has been downloaded over two million times already. (see: https://flathub.org/apps/com.spotify.Client)

Suggestion:

The current flatpak works pretty good as is, however, it is still an unofficial wrapper. It would be nice to see Spotify take ownership of this package and provide official support for linux via flatpak. This wouldn't be too hard since most of the work has already been done - just contact the maintainer for the ownership transfer.

Potential benefits:

This would allow you to easily expand the number of devices you support, and expand your official support for a large number of existing users of your service. It would also allow you to easily fix or improve the app on linux, like adding Wayland support (which is also heavily requested). 

This would also list Spotify in the verified apps section, alongside other big companies like Mozilla's Firefox, Telegram, and OBS Studio, which have all adopted Flathub as an official distribution method

We'll be closing this idea as we are not accepting submissions related to partnerships with 3rd-party companies.
