Before the 1.0.1 update next to the playlists you were following there was a number of songs that were added/new. I used to keep track of this so I easily knew that playlists were updated without checking my notifications one by one.   I follow quite a lot of playlists that are updated regularly and I can't easily keep track of it in the new update.
