The Spotify program should not distinguish between traditional and simplified characters in search functions.
I.e. a search for "我的爱" should turn up results for "我的愛" and "我的爱" (assuming Spotify eventually labels songs in simplified characters. Regardless of whether it does or does not, searches should be conductible in either).
Of course, there will be some ambiguity every now and then, but surely in our modern day of technology we can simply find a way to show all potential results, eg...
"我的头发" would find "我的頭髮" as well as "我的頭發" and, should Spotify start using simplified characters as a display option (though even if it doesn't simplified characters should still be searchable), "我的头发."
It is really annoying to have to change my input method editor just to search for music and then change it back for regular use.

There needs to be some method of sorting Chinese characters when a user clicks, for example, on the "track" or "artist" headings so that songs can be found quickly from within playlists or other listings.
Personally, I would prefer alphabetic sorting by Pinyin, regardless of whether the song is Mandarin/Cantonese (though you need to mark Japanese songs separately somehow for however you will sort them). I would bet that most American searchers for Chinese music will be familiar with pinyin. Certainly, within the entire Chinese speaking world, pinyin is the dominant sorting method nowadays (because mainland China is so large).
...That said, I'm not sure who your target market is exactly for the Chinese music. If you want to cater first to users in Taiwan/Hong Kong, then you should at least allow sorting by stroke number, as this is another commonly used method and will be understood by everyone.
