In settings of the Spotify App should be a "News" section. On this page: "Play news every:" (Here user enter minutes) "minutes from that categories:"( here user switches on and off in a list of topics: politics, economy, sports, music,....) On the bottom of the page is a switch titled with "breaking news". (This very important news from above topics are played as soon as they publish). News can be enabled or disabled in the "song view" while listening music. If enabled, news will be played like ads between songs. It is time for the future: Radio 2.0. With this podcasters and other radiomakers can upload their content to Spotify. Listeners can listen to their own playlist (the music they like) with a mix of good content (the shows and updates they like). We have to embrace the fact that original radio is now in serious competition with streaming services like Spotify. Therefor great content no longer get to the people. In most cases people do not like the music on the radio bacause it is to popular, it is not their taste or they heard the song to much.
How does it work?
Well, in Spotify you can subscribe to a particular channel. It is just like YouTube, but then with audio. These channels can be from mayor radio stations or just young podcasters. You chose how often and which content you like. Spotify will then make a mix of your favorite music en favorite content.
And the uploaders?
Radio stations nowadays are really fast in uploading missed content to their websites. With that in mind, it is also possible they upload it to a service like Spotify. Every time someone listens to the content, they get a little sum of money. That's fair because the contentmaker put effort in it. Podcasters and other young journalists can also use the opportunity to get their newly made content into the public.
What kind of content?
Whatever you want. A few examples of the possibilities: a podcaster about your favorite video game, a journalist having an interview with a mayor celebrity, your favorite radio game, hourly news, weather forecast, traffic updates and stock updates. What is there not to bring?
