Update 17/2/14 - Almost 2 years ago I submitted this idea, and in the last few weeks, the number of Kudos email notifcations I receive daily is getting even more frequent. Thanks to everyone who keep's voting it up, I didn't think it would get 10 votes let alone over 1,000! Clearly it's popular but not as straight forward to develop hence the 'Not Right Now' status from Spotify, but keep the voting! The most rated ideas are getting developed and it's just a matter of time before this one does too. Thanks! ------------------ I'd like to see a miniplayer and mini controls for Spotify that could sit in the taskbar (Windows and Mac!) The idea came about, after I kept maximising and minimising Spotify just to see my play queue and sometimes jump down a few . This is my solution making it a less obtrusive way of seeing what's coming up and track jumping.

Hi guys, I've been using the Android app for a bit. To be honest, the UI feels a bit dated and doesn't really fit the Holo design guidelines which you can find here. One example of a really nice redesign is attached to this post. Thanks for considering this. EDIT: Now that Lollipop has been released along with the Material Design Guidelines, I think it would be a good idea to update the UI to fit these guidelines. If I choose to display unplayable tracks in playlists I would also like to actually be able to see them. Now the text shade is in such a dark grey shade that there is almost no contrast between the text and the dark background. This makes it very difficult to read and see what is written, to see the song name and artist of the unplayable song. Please make the text brighter - as before - so that I can actually read/see the tracks without getting a headache.

The scroll bar at the Right Side of the Desktop Client is very small and to dark. Pleas adjust the size of the bar and make it a little bit brighter or colored

The track time line NEEDS a waveform for easier track hopping (needle dropping). It is a much better design UX solution and one that will definitely be appreciated by ALL: Soundcloud/Vox/Mixcloud etc - they all have this function. Please consider including it. Thanks/.

In the app it should be easier to get your favorites like music, artists, and more. Like a 5 dock thing bUT with artista and stuff lol. I can't wait to see something soon

Dear Spotify, First, I really love the videos you put out to talk about you as a company, very inspiring! Secondly, I hate that everytime I want to look at my music there is pictures of them (which I didn't even choose and sometimes are quite strange) and lots of information I really don't care about. I need to scroll through tons of lines to find an artist. I know the name of my bands, I really don't need a picture of them. Please make a minimum design (or at least the option) where I just see artist name and then click further to the albums and so on. Make it neat and clean. Thanks, keep it up! Daniel

Currently, people you follow lumps your real-life friends with the artists you enjoy. These should be separated out - Following and Followers should strictly be the social aspect of it. Break the Artists you are following into the Your Music page with an Artists tab. My reasoning is, when I'm browsing my friends and I want to see who they follow and who is following them and possibly discover another friend to follow or discover a good Tastemaker who puts out great playlists, I don't want to have to dig through their list of Artists. Also, including the two together gets totally overwhelming - if I follow all the artists I'm interesting in, I could easily be 'following' a couple hundred people. Following an Artist has a different function then following a person. Following an Artist allows me to be notified of when they put out new releases or if they share music or playlists. Secondly. Some what related, I love the notifcations for when a new song or record is released by an artist I follow. It's a great and easy way to stay on top of music I've already indicated I care about. But for reasons mentioned above, actually 'Following' every single band I care about is a lot of work and a lot of noise in my Following list. It would be great if you gave notifcations to every artists automatically that is already in your saved Your Music section. This is how Rdio handles it and it's really superior. Every couple days the notification icon lights up with a new release from some artist in my collection and oftentimes it's an artist I have listened to a long time ago, but don't really think about so I would definitely miss their release.

Given the newly release of Android Lollipop and Material Design, wouldn't it be nice to rework Spotify's existing look to a more material one. I'm not saying that you should redesign it totally just a rework to implement the Material Guidelines. Something like this would look really nice, while you wouldn't stray very far off the current design that you are having. See "screenshots" of how it possibly could look here: Spotify with Material Design Please add your kudos to this idea if you'd like to see this implemented.
