There should be an Equalizer for the Desktop version of Spotify. Since Spotify's mobile apps now have an EQ setting, this should be implemented on the desktop version, too! The EQ should come with various presets but also the ability to save your own custom settings.

It would be really helpful to me to be able to have all my songs in one place. For example, there's an awesome YouTube music creator named Noteblock and I love his music, but it isn't on Spotify. He has download links in his description, so if I were to be able to download the song and upload it to Spotify to play, that would be amazing. The song would only be available to you. Also, if that song would sync between all of my devices, that would be even better. Though liked songs is a good idea, the hearts are large and annoying, saved songs was a nicer cleaner look. If you had saved songs in your library as in the the old UI and Liked songs as a separate playlist, you would have more flexibility and it would be more convenient for all users. Plus the previous UI Artists section was better.

Please add album icons to each individual songs in a playlist. Just like the mobile app. This will help to search songs very quickly as we can look at the icons instead of just the song title. The album icon can be added on top of the 'add to library' icon. When the cursor hover over it, the album icon can turn into the 'add to library' icon. It baffles me that this option was taken away, but with the latest build of Spotify, which replaced the old inbox with the very unneeded message threads, there is no way to delete messages. I was told to submit this as an idea, but I'm shocked I even have to. Next thing, I'll be submitting an idea to allow me to shut Spotify down after I'm done using it. EDIT: I'd also like to add, as some of you have, that it's somewhat disturbing to find very old messages that I "deleted" two years ago now appearing in my Messages box again. Which means Spotify held on to those private messages, even though I hit that Delete button. Not good. EDIT #2: Hi, everyone. It's been A YEAR AND A HALF since I posted this, and as you can see, even after 19 pages of comments and almost 700 kudos, Spotify hasn't done anything about it besides call it a "good idea". Thanks, Spotify. Because of this issue, and because of Spotify's reluctance to listen to the community on an issue which I feel is way more important than the color of the background, I have barely touched Spotify in the past 6-7 months. There are other alternatives these days. While they may not be perfect, at least they seem to respect my privacy more than Spotify, which is extremely important to me. Keep the comments and kudos coming, friends. I appreciate all of you backing me on this. Hopefully, Spotify will fix this issue at some point in the next decade. Until then, I'll be enjoying other streaming services. EDIT #3: Whelp. Checked back three years after initially posting this to find that the folks at Spotify deemed this invasion of privacy unimportant, and gave it a "Not Right Now", even after 1,268 votes and 33 pages of comments.Much more important that they change the font of that one band's name. Spotify Peeps, being able to delete your private messages shouldn't be an "idea" or even a "suggestion". It should be common sense. But whatever. I've been very happy over at Apple Music. I urge everyone reading this to remain on the free Spotify plan, switch to the free plan, or stop using Spotify altogether. There really are other good options out there. As Premium users we should have the possibility of changing/customizing the Home screen in the desktop app (Win10). It makes no sense to show the Home screen at startup with artists, playlists and music styles totally unrelated to the user. My sugestion would be to disable this nonsense home screen. Instead the user would be presented with the last artist, song or playlist he was listening to. I bet this would make the app faster at start up as well. Thank you.

As a recent convert from the unofficial Google Play desktop app, I was incredibly used to having my self-determined shortcuts to like/dislike songs whilst in a separate window. I almost exclusively game with a full-screen window, and it would be wonderful to mark songs I like without having to switch windows. I've seen a few historical suggestions for this feature by @CrystalBeam , @Enricodc, and @sofianeh , but cannot find a current one to throw my hat in with.

I think it would be a good idea to have an option in the settings where you can ""minimize"" the window and keep only a bar, that stays on top of the other windows and only has the music bar and the buttons to change music and the volume: Basically, this bar would have everything that the Spotify window has on the bottom. What do you think ?

Hi I really liked the "Stranger Things" feauture, and now that I see that you easily have an overlay/screensaver I would really like to utilize this feature. I must say that you should also be able to tune the density of the overlay. So far I have have the following ideas: -Fireplace. -Space. -Landscapes on planets -NASA feed -Under water. -Relevant scenery for the song or artist. -Concert or slideshow of artist. -Music video. -Looking out window (with and without mullions) during different seasons and in different cities and landscapes. -Live webcam (streamers, earthcam.com etc.) -Factory, office, airport, city street -Photoalbum slideshow. -Rude Goldberg machine -Computergames gameplay/streams -Mirror -Different themes both videos and slideshow. r/Eyebleach , r/oddlysatisfying/, r/NatureIs**bleep**ingLit How I get to enjoy some of these ideas soon :)

Can't wrap my head around why Spotify would remove the ability to add new radio stations on the Radio page (Windows and Android). What used to take two steps (from the logical starting point of the Radio page), now requires you to navigate to the Artist/Album, click on their info for the dropdown, and create a station. Sure, it's not that much more difficult to do, but just makes more sense to me to have the ability to add radio stations directly on the Radio page by searching for Artists/Albums/Songs. I miss my beautiful green button. Just my worthless $0.02.

In 2012, the awesome idea was suggested to Spotify to make a fullscreen mode on for the desktop version. And we were heard, we got a nice full screen version that displayed the album cover, the song name and the artist. On a big bland ugly gray to black gradient. Please Spotify. There have been several requests about this topic, some asking for the background to be the dominant color of the album art, others asking for the background to be a blurry enlarged version of the album art, again others thing that a audio visualizer may look cool. Anything else but this gradient. When there's a party, I like to have music on, of course. The fullscreen mode hides my playlist nicely, but the gray gradient just ruins the whole look of the room. So, hopefully the final post about this, Spotify, Please give us an option to change the background of the fullscreen mode. We beg you. Now here's some ideas I personally had. 1) Make the fullscreen mode personalizable. By this I mean, make an option in the settings in which you can move around and resize the album art and text. You can also choose what you would like as a background, for example choosing between showing the most dominant color of the album art, showing an enlarged picture, an audio visualizer, **bleep** maybe even an option to play the youtube videoclip in the background. 2) Widgets you can place in the fullscreen mode. This is a small continuation of point 1). If you do get to personalize the fullscreen mode, being able to add widgets to it would be even cooler. Like adding a digital clock, a date, an "up next" widget, there's alot of cool ways you could go with this. Now let's hope we get noticed boys.

Hey Spotify, first of all – thank you for updating the mobile app. I love the new library, hope it stays around for a while! I'm listening to a lot of podcasts both on my computer and my phone. However, when I open Podcasts in the Desktop app, I need to pull out my phone every time in order to see which podcast has recently published a new episode. I really don't understand why there's no way to sort my podcasts by how recently they have been updated. The dropdown options "Name" and "Recently added" are not really practical for everyday use. Why not add an option "New episodes" or something along these lines? A small unobtrusive info, similar to the mobile app "updated today" would be really nice, too (I mean who really needs the episode count in the overview?). Please please please please please Spotify answer my prayers.

(Apologies for the crosspost in Contribution, but I didn't see this subforum.) I posted this before but it went inactive. This seems like a simple bug fix that people have been requesting for 2 3 years. (Lots of requests around the interwebs). This is only a problem in Spotify Premium. I'm assuming the ads were keeping Windows awake. I'm not sure which is more annoying, the ads or this bug. Please fix!

No notifcation when someone follows you No notifcation when someone messages you No notifcation when someone plays your playlist No notifcation when someone plays the song you were were just playing (through the Friend Feed) Etc. Really too bad none of these cause a notifcation. The major reason many use Spotify is the social aspect.. and Spotify dropped the ball on this one. Spotify is the best music platform hands down, and it's really dissapointing they haven't pushed the social scene better (the side bar is genius.. we just need more!). TLDR: Having more notifications as well as more social tools (like a posted news feed) would really improve the platform.

When creating a new playlist there should be an option to add it under a playlist folder. Currently you can only create a new playlist, then you have to drag to appropriate folder. It would be easier to organize and manage your music library if you could nest under folders/add labels to playlists like you can with gmail. This has been requested a couple times but re-posting to get more kudos. Its been requested enough times that its obviously desired but just hasn't been promoting within the community. Why hasn't this feature been implemented? Seriously, it's not that hard to do, and would improve usability, in my opinion. Why require your users to go offline, wait, then back online to sync their accounts? If I make a change on my phone, it should appear on my desktop or other devices either by refreshing the list, or providing an auto-refresh after some time. Guessing the dev team is too lazy to do it, or y'all got some crappy PMs managing requirements for your releases.

I would really love a podcast feed that put the episodes from all of the podcasts I subscribe to in order. It could even be a drop down with options like, newest, oldest, rating, etc... Right now we just have a screen with dozens of podcasts with no way of knowing which shows have new episodes.
