0.9.x is a Hummer-- ugly, rugged, inhospitable, incomplete-- but gets us there, to the mountaintop to sample the vast Spotify music library. In contrast, 1.0.1x is a lawn mower racer-- sleek, safe for kids, cheap to maintain-- completely different market and different operational requirements from the Hummer. We can clearly see that it is not technically or financially feasible to put the essential functionality of 0.9.x into the 1.0.1x. I reference a sampling of the technical and financial impossibility in the following vociferous complaints about what cannot ever be done in any future version of 1.0.1.x * by emilelmar1996 -- Fix Spotify 1.0.1x ... https://community.spotify.com/t5/Spotify-Ideas/Fix-Spotify-Version-1-0-1-1060-gc75ebdfd/idi-p/1040466

This is NOT a Duplicate idea; this is not a multiple request. This is only one simple idea. Please do not take away 0.9.x ever. Go ahead and explore the lawn mower racer market; God bless you, and may you financially triumph! But please don't take away the old clunky Hummer; don't even waste your time enhancing the Hummer; all of us users will build the enhanced tools that we need-- completely outside the Spotify environment, without enhancement cost to Spotify financials. Please do not take away the 0.9.x ever. We can enhance it outside of Spotify to do everything we need to get to the top of the mountain to view the entirety of the awesome Spotify music collection. The 1.0.1x lawn mower racer could never get us there-- in any possible reincarnation or code refactoring. Plus please, never disturb the workaround we have developed to block all future updates to the Desktop 0.9.x that we need to be able to download forever from the Spotify website. All of the above amounts to only one unique idea-- Please do not take away 0.9.x ever.

Hello friends I have a god idea, letting to the users chose between the option of using the standard OS menubar on Spotify or hiding it directly by toggling a switch from the general settings section of the prefferences screen (this only could apply to the Linux and Windows apps) and if use the tray icon (being able to minimize Spotify to the tray) or not why? well the standard menubars looks very old in terms of app desig The idea about the posibility to disable the tray and the in tray playback is for keeping the systrays (not matters if is a Linux or Windows tray) as clean as possible, this option should appear only at the advanced settings in the start up and window section I think Spotify is really AWESOME so it should be updated with the most recent UI design guidelines:-) Finaly let me show you why Spotify does not needs tray icon and the cause to ask you for an option to disabling it by toggling a switch

I have an HTPC connected to my home stereo that runs Spotify desktop so I can use Connect to control music on it from my mobile/tablet/laptop. However, as I'm logged in with my Spotify account on the HTPC, I am the only family member who can use it. Spotify Connect enabled amps and speakers allow anyone running Spotify to connect to it. I would love to be able to put the desktop app on my HTPC in a mode that allows this as well.

I recently installed the new version on my laptop and the mobile app updates itself.
I want to keep my mobile set to one playlist, and the laptop to a different one, without going into offline mode on both, and for each one to keep its own place, like it used to do.
Please therefore make the new feature OPTIONAL.

Allright, I have searched far and wide, but almost all other posts seem to suggest a slightly different idea. Sorry if I had missed any that suggest specifically this - there is bound to be a few.
So, I had recently deleted all my playlist and I am attempting to build a collection in the Your music section of the app (Mac) for various reasons. I always created playlists containing the entire discography of a particular artist, but I usually tend to mix everything and listen to it, which Spotify doesn't let me do easily without creating a playlist containing said mix. Not to mention saving the music locally.
What I found to be a problem is that I cannot simply waltz onto an artist page and click save or drag and drop the artist to the "Songs" section of Your music. I either have to click save on every single album or select all the songs and drag and drop them (Which is somewhat acceptable for me even if it takes a long time to scroll all the way down, but read below). There's follow, which is pretty much useless to me as I mostly listen to people who are long dead and does something else anyway.
Now, this isn't so much of an issue for me as I imagine it is for Spotify and your servers. Let's use Ennio Morricone as an example. The guy has some 7000 songs, a lot of duplicates between albums, but 7000 none the less. When I select them all and drag + drop them to save them all, I imagine the app creates a humongous number of requests on your database. It visibly takes the app to catch on some 10 minutes before the albums are correctly marked as saved, then some more before the songs themselves are. I didn't take a look at the traffic in Wireshark, but I can imagine what it does for your servers judging from other parts of the app. If there instad was a Save discrography button, it would result in a single request a couple of characters long, which would be then locally processed between your servers.
Kudos or not, you might want to think about this one for a bit anyway, I'd consider it a fairly major bug if I was the developer..
Edit: A similar idea here. Until told otherwise or closed by mods I am leaving this open as I think this post has a few points worth mentioning.

Hi Spotify Team - hoping you can add a couple of additional shortcuts to the desktop client to enable users to go a set amount of time forwards or backwards within a song. This would be the equivalent of the Shift + Right Arrow Key (->) or Shift + Left Arrow Key (<-) in Winamp for instance and believe that the same shortcut could be implemented considering that those key combinations are currently unused in the desktop client.
I'm recommending 10s based on some quick research into other desktop media player shortcut lists but would be ok with any increment really provided the functionality exists.
