Hi people, After switching from iPhone to Android, i saw that the Spotify app is completely different then on iOS. For example: On iPhone only you can: - Swipe to right/left to add a song in your music or add as next song. - If you press and hold a song you get a preview. - In the play window you can swipe down to close this window and go back to your playlists, you can swipe up in playlists to get the album play window. - Genius is as i seen only available on iPhone, i didn't saw it on Android. On Android you exclusively have: - Landscape mode - Scroll bar to fast-scroll down or up in a long list. As far i can think this are the differents between the operating systems. I don't know how Windows Phone looks, but i think the statement is clear: Spotify, please make all of your apps equal and don't change designs or features because we all (as a Premium) pay the same price. We want the same features on all our devices, no matter if it is a iDevice, Android or Windows Phone. Hope this will happen, because it is different for years now and i think its time to change this! The lack of customization available in spotify is HIDE OUS! The developers need to stop trying so hard and add some basic functionality and customization! What i am recommending is halting all progress on new 'features' until we have some seriously basic things that should already be in Spotify and should have been from the start! Examples; (for the windows desktop program {the one i am sat in front of as i write this}) Font! (Size, colour, linespacing etc.) More of these things are in your website support form than your actual program! Background colours/Skins The choice of playback device Equalizer Finer tuning for things like crossfading & volume (perhaps the option of manually setting a track to play at a reduced/increased volume) More support for different file formats (.flac .wav etc.) More customization in search filters The option for the extra features and plugins (Not mandatory loading of all the features regardless of how often/not at all you use them {could be implemented via the view menu in the file menu bar}) The ability to reorder the left side menu bar, including splitting the list of playlists. And those are just the things off the top of my head, that virtually every other media player has in some capacity or another! All of these thing have been suggested time and again! Your customers are screaming for these things! But your too busy designing new 'features' to replace the older features that people have grown accustomed to and actually use on a regular basis! You have a very active idea's forum for the next stage up, the increased functionality that the users want, they should not be crying out for very basic features! So many of your customers are very unhappy that these issues (that have mostly been raised years ago by the way!) are STILL unresolved! I think that unless you fix these underlying issues your currently popular music player will get out done by other more serious companies. The only reason will be because of your lack of infrastructure! You are building a platform for the people who pay you to be able listen to music (and many that dont, but you have your own limitations for free users), they dont all want the same platform, therefore you need to hand them some control over the layout, design and features that they use! You WILL NOT survive in this day and age until you give the people the customization they crave! This is what your program needs! So get to it! I write this, not for myself, to benefit from a new feature i want you to put in (i've found workarounds for most of my gripes) I write this for you, as a warning, and for your millions of paying customers who are screaming for some of these things and have been for ages! Oh and please dont just slap this with a 'under consideration' tag or some 'not right now' tape, its a serious matter and you know it.

Are your playlists as long as mine are? I like variety. Only problem is that Spotify users have to manually scroll to get to an artist they want to listen to right then and there. When you have tons of artists in a certain playlist, that gets to be quite the time-consuming task. I think it would be extremely helpful to be able to key "G" and jump to that place in the playlist, if I want to listen to an artist/song/album I know starts with the letter "G." Hopefully you feel the same. Thanks! Jacklyn

I don't know how it is on other phones, but on my Samsung Galaxy 2 there is no library feature. It would be very nice to have it so I can search, sort after artist and that kind of stuff. Thanks

Spotify could use some additional functionality to aid in personalized discovery. To me, personalized discovery is the ability to find new songs based on songs Spotify already knows you like. Spotify already does this with playlist radio stations. As it is now, one's SONGS list cannot be turned into a radio station. That's an easy fix that should be implemented immediately. That was one of my favorite aspects of STARRED. I've since become accustomed to SONGS, and have lazily acquiesced into just SHUFFLE PLAY-ing the songs I already have in my list. It's really the only button to use in that mode. I miss the discovery of "create a radio station out of this list" This could be easily implemented in a few ways. 1. Within the "YOUR MUSIC>SONGS" tab, right next to the giant "SHUFFLE PLAY" button could be a "YOUR RADIO" button that just takes your entire SONGS list and finds new songs for you that aren't already on your list, at least mixes in new songs with your current list. Here's a similar idea implemented through a different tab: 2. Within the BROWSE>DISCOVER tab, there are already great suggestions based on what you like, what's popular in your area, etc. but there isn't really a continuous play feature within this mode. Currently, if you click on a suggestion bucket, it will play a song in that album and then move to the next song in that same album. It would be a more robust feature if there was an option to jump to the next suggestion bucket instead of diving deeper into that one artist/album. Example: There are 3 "recommended for you" artists in a row. Let's call it Van Morrison, Flying Lotus, and Mozart for example's sake. Rather than having to listen to every Van Morrison song, then actively having to click over to the Flying Lotus bucket to hear those suggestions, then clicking over to Mozart bucket to hear those, it would just play one song from each recommended bucket and keep it moving down the list. Maybe there could be a "CREATE RADIO STATION BASED ON YOUR RECOMMENDATIONS" or "RECO RADIO" or "DISCOVER RADIO" for brevity's sake. Idea #1 and #2 should essentially do the same thing and wouldn't both need to be implemented unless you think there are some expectational differences between them. For me it's about being able to passively discover new music based on my overall tastes, not just the tastes I've delineated into playlists. Thanks for listening!

I find useing Spotify very difficult. I always run into functionality problems. It just isn't user friendly. It's a little bit like the experience of using Excel, you really need a class to get the basics down, as I don't have the time to spend hours fiddling around with the options on the drop down menues. 1. The white writing on a black background is commonly known to be a poor for vewing pleasure. In fact, the Arts Council England has band it's use, as visually impared people find it difficult to see. At the end of a Spotify session I ofen feel sick. 2. When I click on the 'follow' option. It brings up suggestions for me to follow. I would have hoped that it would have brought up diffierent options, like who I follow, who is following me and then suggestions for who I could follow. The design isn't focused aorund the user but around getting people clicking, so that the marketing department can show this to the advertisers. 3. Make it easier to opt out of things. I've know idea who to stop the app from adding my itunes music into its programme. I don't want to sit and wait for it to do this extra step. I have my itunes in my itunes I don't need it in my Spotify account. I also want to be asked if the spotify app is going to link with my FB account. This way I stay in control rather than the app making choices for me. At the moment I go on Spotify one a month. I would be on it every day if the above issues where sorted out. I would even subscribe if I felt like I was at the heart of the user experience, rather than click counts.

What I would like to see is the availability to add a BPM, Key of Track, Bit Rate and Genre columns to the player to better compose a seemless playlist. I would also like to see if it is possible within a crossfade function to sync tracks via bpm. Thank you for your patience in reading this. sublimatesessions

I want to pluck the Browser-style Back/Forward buttons that are available on Desktop version and drop them smack somewhere into mobile version. i.e. I want the ability to hop Back to the previous song played when it was on a previous playlist- not just back to previous song on current album or playlist- and by extension, the ability to hop Back to that previous playlist. This modest improvement to functionality could be effected by: Adding the ubiquitous left/right back/fwd triangle buttons to edges of current area containing REW |<< and >>| FFW Adding said buttons as a transparent overlay that appears somewhere on top of the album cover Adding Back/Forward functionality to the options that get called up in dark grey overlay that shows when small i button is activated I prefer option 3. because it's least disruptive to current UI, the simplicity of which I really enjoy. If users howl for the function to be more front and center then someone on payroll can figure out a solution, I have no doubt. Option 1. would have a crowding effect. One thing I love about Spotify mobile is the clean and simple feel of the design. Option 2. would look clunky, and some users may regard that album cover area as inviolable. 'Back' is a great way to not lose track of songs and artists that I haven't yet starred or added to a playlist while I'm discovering new music on desktop version, or just handy for general navigation. Not having this functionality on mobile results in a few additional, frustrating clicks and swipes to go Back when I want to. (Changed my mind about Chief Keef playlist, let's go back to A Day to Remember!) This is exacerbated when playlists are mysteriously cloning themsleves at night like Gremlins. So... GIMME. P.S. If somehow this in there already and I'm just too daft to have noticed it... stellar! Point me in that direction and I'll gladly pipe down.
