I just got a Roku for Christmas, and I'm loving everything about it, except the Spotify app. As soon as I seen the older Spotify logo, I knew it wasn't up to date, but wow...it's really lacking.   1. Add Radio - If you want your users to discover new songs, this is pretty much the only way to do it from within Spotify, yet you can't. As a result, users are forced to go to a competitor to find new songs, leaving Spotify in the dust. This should have been in from the beginning.   2. Add "Your Music" - People have albums that they might like to listen to instead of in a playlist...and making a playlist for every album is just a hassle. This is about as important to ensure it gets added as Radio.   I know I speak for other Roku users out there when I say that those two features alone will help drive users away from being basically forced to use a competitor when on their Roku, which might even drive them to ditch Spotify all together. ... The Roku app has lagged behind other Spotify apps for quite some time. This hasn't made much of a difference until "Your Music" was rolled out. I spent quite a bit of time remving my album playlists and saving them in my music instead. Now I can't access those in the Roku app. It would be great to have a my music tab in the Roku app instead of the Playlist tab.   Also the search interface could use a lot of work, but I'll save that for another idea. ... The Spotify app on Roku requires you to have a Premimum account. The newly released Android TV app does not. Bring the two platforms in line and let both have access to Spotify without a Premium account. ... View more

It would really be cool to be able to use Spotify Connect on my Roku. Spotify is really lacking in the 10 foot experience (the TV/Sound System) due to this issue. The Roku is still the top TV Streaming experience for all streaming devices and could use a little Spotify Love.   There are other apps which have this capability, such as the YouTube app. I can control the Roku YouTube app using the YouTube app on my phone (android). I can see what video is playing, where it is in the video and the time left, the next  videos, and search and play another video.    Please consider this. I recently upgrade my 4 roku boxes to the new ones because they are the only kit that let me have NowTV, Amazon prime video, Netflix & Spotify on one box. Now I have to invest in new equipment just so I can access Spotify on my TV. The first app was great, then playlists got removed which was annoying but I could still access all the music. Why hasn't such a basic feature not been added to the Roku Spotify app by now? I did a search and this was requested several years ago and it is still in the "Not Yet" category!   I don't use Spotify on the Roku because I have no access to my albums, artists, playlists and personalized daily mixes. It seems like such a simple thing to accomplish. . .   Make it a feature for premium subscribers; it will be another good reason to pay the subscription fee. It is bad customer relations and puts a huge ding on the credibility of your organzation to NOT put a big notice upfront for Roku Spotify potential subscribers that Roku Spotify is a limited app with no playlists.  The reason I would want Spotify on Roku is for playlists.  I can get random streaming from Pandora much easier.  I feel gypped and deceived. ... I`ve been using spotify for a while now and yesterday got myself a Roku.   Of course, i downleded the spotify channel before a party, then launched and it said i had to be a premium member. Ok fine, time to become a premium member !!   Unfortunatly, the spotify app on roku is "naked", doesn`t offer half of what is available on my phone. I've been a Spotify premium customer for a few years now. I like almost everything about spotify but I do have some suggestions to make it better for the people that pay to use this service. The Roku App for Spotify is horrible. It's not user friendly, very buggy, and very limited on functionality. The app needs a complete overhaul. Add radio, make it easier to navigate and fix the bugs. I've read recently that Spotify is taking time to revemp the app used on the Roku, however I don't even see the app anywhere on the streaming channels any longer? From what it seems they don't plan on making a new app for the Roku devices. It's useful on Spotify for the PC to be able to play at the folder level and thus combine multiple playlists into one effective playlist.  The app that comes up when using Roku does not allow playing at the folder level, just individual playlists.  Would love to see this inconsistency and inconvenience addressed. ... Please, for the love of Pete, update the Spotify App for Roku Players. The interface is clunky and there connection problems galore. Half of the time I have to reset my player six times to be able to access my music, and the other half I'm staring at a loading screen. There's also no way to add a song to your saved music. Hi,   Respectfully, I think that the search navigation on Spotify's Roku channel could be vastly improved. When the user begins typing an artist's name, there is no auto-type completion, as with Amazon Prime's search feature. In addition, the default search is set to "Song," not "Artist." I've found that in order to successfully search for a particular artist, I have to type the artist's name completely and exactly, with no shortcuts (extremely time-consuming), and THEN navigate to the results box, in order to move the cursor from "Song" to "Album" and then, finally, to "Artist," the third category in the search field, in order to conduct the search. This is totally inefficient and a complete hassle. Please improve the search functionality by making it easier and faster to search by artist.   Also, on Roku, instead of seeing a long list of text-based album results after conducting an artist search, it would be great to give the user an option to view the search results as a horizontal grouping of album cover art AND album titles, similar to the manner in which the Spotify website displays album results. Lastly, with respect to the Spotify website -- the all-black color scheme is ridiculously awful -- it makes the text on the screen difficult to read. Please either switch to a white background with black text color scheme, or, alternately, give the user the option to change to such a scheme, in order to make reading text and navigation easier on the eyes.   Thank you for your consideration. ...
