Every Tuesday, thousands of artists release new singles, EP's and full-length albums. It's typically late Tuesday night or early Wednesday before Spotify's 'New Release' category under the 'Browse' option is updated, and even then it only includes 5-7 new releases. Last week it was four. That's it. Four new releases for the entire week, most of them completely unrelated to my listening history/habits. Here's my idea for re-vamping 'New Releases':
Include MORE new music in the New Releases section. Inundate me with all of the new music. It's there, it all gets added, but I have to know that the artist released something and actively seek it out if I want to hear it.
Since adding that much music will be a little overwhelming, set a filter for it to include or exclude certain genres.
One of these sorting options should be music from artists I've listened to before. Another sorting option would be favorite or most-listened to genres, an "if you like that, try this..." type of thing.
Make new music available sooner. I know you probably add it as you get it, but it would be nice to have the option of listening to music when it comes out.
In the same vein, it took you two weeks to change the Beck single to the Beck album in New Releases. That can and should have been done the same day or the day after the album was released.
I'm sure some of the content under "New Releases" is sponsored, which is fine, despite the fact that I pay for my subscription, but that's the way the world works. Don't show me David Nail, don't show me Dierks Bentley, don't show me Cole Swindell. It makes me feel like you aren't even paying attention, like I'm the girlfriend who talks too much about her feelings and you're the despondent boyfriend just dialing it in.
In short: Make 'New Releases' more thorough, sortable, responsive and relevant. Please and thank you.

Instead of having only playlists, I think we should be able to have one large library-- but still be able to make smaller playlists based off of that library.
I think this would be beneficial because sometimes I like to listen to a certain artist, or maybe just one of their albums, or maybe a certain genre of the songs I have in my library. I think if there was one big library, where we could sort our songs into different subsets from, it would be beneficial and a little more user friendly.
Honestly, I love the idea of spotify and I absolutely adore paying such a small amount and having unlimited music every month. However, I find myself pining for the layout of iTunes and the way they are able to sort their music into different subsets. I don't want to say this, but I've been contemplating going back to iTunes simply because of that convenience. I'd really like the hear something back about this, because I truly think it would be helpful!
