Hi everyone,   For the past couple of weeks I have been engaging with music creators based in Wellington, New Zealand. For those of you who are unaware, it is the city with the most vibrant music community in the country. (Probably because there are 3 music schools in that area!)   While talking about many different things, there was a comment made by an individual who said that links to music from Spotify are incredibly long and messy. It wasn't the main point of discussion (We were talking about music marketing as a whole), but for some strange reason that comment resonated with me; so much so that it got me thinking about it for the past week.   Now, usually artists in NZ (not sure about the rest of the world) would use third-party websites where they streamline all of their music links and socials into one link where you can find everything (for example, Bit.ly). That's cool and all, but that whole process of hopping out of FB or IG to a website, to then hop into the Spotify app/web player, is tedious and somewhat time consuming.   I am a stern believe that us as human beings are naturally impatient and always seek the easier option. Like my dad use to always say - 'Work smarter, not harder.' In this case, I certainly believe that Spotify could utilize branching out into making it's own version of URL shortener, where you can shorten the URL to an Artist's page, and Album/Song, or Playlist.   Perhaps instead of making it as a separate entity, it could be embedded in the web player and mobile app. It could be an option when someone wants to share, right next to the option of embedding the album/track. It could be used to share Spotify accounts, Musical Artists, Playlists (Even the Spotify curated ones!)   In summary, here is why I believe this is a good idea:   -Clean, short & tidy looking link (example: https://spot.ify/GhF43dZ )   -Musicians/Influencers enticed to use as it is more appealing to share on their socials (as opposed to example :https://open.spotify.com/track/6mOYNx2gBorMkPmqJhyhJ3?si=a0f691ab52cf6a )   -Increase traffic into Spotify web player/phone app as result from Streamlined process. Can we get podcast speed options on chrome web player? My phone died and I am sadly forced to listen to my podcasts on my laptop. I used to listen to my podcasts at 1.8x or 2x speed on the mobile app, and as this is not an option on desktop, I am greatly inconvenienced and disappointed in Spotify. Thank you. ... View more

KaiOS is the biggest growing mobile OS on the market at the moment with over 80 million devices already running it. It is currently the second biggest OS in India already. The OS is andriod-based (forked from Firefox OS) and most app compatibility comes from web versions, for example Telegrams web.telegram.org. Most websites already work out of the box, however the Spotify Web player demands you to install their app, which is yet non existent.   While we wait for an official Spotify App (which could take a while), we ask Spotify to open the Spotify Web player to KaiOS systems, so we can continue to enjoy Spotify.  ... My idea is very simple, first, put a button that after being pressed starts to monitor any played songs and save them in some database.  After that, while this function has enabled any song played before must be not played again independently if changes the playlist or click to shuffle or any other flux possible. So the unique form to disable this option is pressing again the button or closing the application and cleaning the database where the played songs were saved. Another option is when the user forgets that functionality is enabled and trying play some song again, so the user must receive a notification explaining why that song will not be played. Reinstate the Ctrl+A shortcut key function of "selecting all the songs in a playlist" on the Spotify Web Player. Ctrl+A works on the Spotify Desktop App, why not on Spotify's website player.   The Spotify Web Player used to have the Ctrl+A function a couple of years ago, but it was removed without any clear   indicators on why.   I would like to see the CTRL+A shortcut key function be brought back for all Spotify users that are using the Spotify Web Player.    ... I'm a free-spotify user, and I'm using the web browser from a windows 10 laptop computer. The problem, basically, is that in the web browser albums and artists are no longer sorted in alphabetical order, and if I want to play a specific album finding it is not trivial. Just take a look at the attached picture and you'll figure out easily. Right now, albums and artists are sorted ascending from "last added". I understand that maybe someone would find this organization "useful" or "brilliant", so my idea is either to revert to the old alphabetical organization or to give an option to select the way we'd like albums or artists to be sorted. Add a feature to remove unwanted suggestions on the desktop app and Web player. This is already available on mobile, but it isn't on the other platforms.   This feels like basic functionality that would improve the experience for everyone involved. If you give the listener the ability to better curate their suggestions, you'll provide space for the listener to receive suggestions they'll click on which is a better incentive for content creators to promote through your service. It just makes sense to give the paid subscriber the ability to curate their suggestions to match their interests and increase their time spent using your service.   Note: I tagged [Web Player] because that's what I generally use, but this is functionality that should exist on all platforms where suggestions are present.  ... Recently, I queued up a bunch of random unfamiliar tunes in the web player, and while I was working, realised that one of them was really nice. When I switched to my Spotify tab, the song had ended and I'd moved forward in the playback queue. I looked everywhere and couldn't find a list of recently played songs, which was really frustrating. On Home, there's a "Recently played" list, but it's restricted to artists and albums which is not very useful if the artists are prolific. Apparently you can get to a list of recently played songs from the Queue screen in either or both of the Desktop/Mobile apps, but it doesn't to be available in the Web app. It would be great to get feature parity there in the webapp too. ... While it is possible to sort songs by title, artist, album, and duration in desktop app, it is not possible to do so on Web Player. This is an immensely useful function, and I don't understand why it is not available on Web player. If you also feel like this function is needed, support this idea, please. ... View more

So this idea idea has been posted before in a different format and it was closed. The 100 likes in year is a bit aggressive. It could be that not enough users visit the ideas page. In general, Spotify should update the web based app/player and provide the exact same functionality as the Windows PC app and then synchronize both as enhancements are applied. It would be nice to be able to upload local files from a Chromebook and have the same folder and sorting functionality. When you get sick or tired of a song you would want to remove it from your playlist correct? Well if you only have 1 or 2, it’s quite simple. But if like me you have multiple playlists(different moods or activity’s, etc) it can be a painful process. So there should be 2 options after pressing the remove from this playlist button. It should be renamed the ‘Remove From Playlist’ button and after tapping/ clicking it you would get 2 options, remove from this playlist or remove from selected playlists. Remove from this playlist would obviously only remove it from that playlist, and selected would bring up a list of your playlists and you could click/tap a box that would have a tick in it after selecting to know that playlist is selected.    ...
