One of the most expected events of the music world is coming in a few days. T-minus just 6 days to the show that will be broadcasted live from NBC. This amazing event from Billboard was originally scheduled for April 29th, but it had to be delayed in the light of the pandemic, however, it just has made that the excitement of everyone rises more. That because even the host of the annual meeting was an object of doubts and suggestions, but in Billboard's words, "Kelly Clarkson, is still on board".

The 2019 BBMA aired on May 1st and were without doubts has been a complete success. According to Nilsen Media Research, the show averaged a 2.1 rating in adults 18-49 and 8 million viewers. This year, more and more viewers are expected because of all the hype around the show that is being expected for more than a year since the last edition.

Last year, we had featured performances from Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Madonna and Maluma, BTS with Halsey, Khalid, Panic! at the Disco, and other great artists.

The nominee list of the Billboard Music Award for this year was released last month on the 22nd. Post Malone stands out with 16 nominations, followed by Lil Nas X with 15 and Billie Eilish and Khalid with 12 nominations each. Last year, Cardi B headed the list of indications with the incredible number of 21 nominations in 18 categories, but on the other hand, this year she was nominated for just one category.

This year the show will give space for the performances of superstars like Alicia Keys, Bad Bunny, Luke Combs, Post Malone, Demi Lovato, Sia, and En Vogue. It seems to be an amazing list, but in my opinion, it is to narrow. I think it misses some other incredible artists from different genres, but it is just an opinion after all. Anyway, this list is not definitive yet and more artists can head up here anytime.

As previously announced, Garth Brooks will receive the coveted ICON Award, joining only eight other artists to ever receive the honor, and take the stage for a highly anticipated performance.

The 2020 Billboard Music Awards will be aired live Wednesday, Oct 14th at 8 p.m ET on NBC. They will take place at The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

According to Billboard, "this year’s awards are based on the chart period of March 23, 2019 through March 14, 2020, set for the originally scheduled April 29, 2020 show, which was postponed due to the pandemic. Billboard Music Awards nominees and winners are based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital song sales, streaming, radio airplay, touring, and social engagement, tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music/MRC Data".

The 2020 Billboard Music Awards is produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by MRC Entertainment, the parent company of Billboard.
