February 2019 Ideas Review

Every month the Community Team reviews our Ideas Board. In this blog we'll present some of the ones we’ve updated in the past month!

Want to know what's been going on in the Ideas Board in the last 30 days? Let's take a look...

IMPLEMENTED:

1.  Spotify in India

We're very happy to announce that Spotify is now available in India. You can check out the press release here.

2. Spotify on Discord

3. Swipe Gestures for Mac Trackpad

GOOD IDEA:

4. Option to disable Videos in curated Playlists

While we don't have plans for disabling video content in playlists, we're marking this as a 'Good Idea'. Please know your feedback is reaching the internal teams at Spotify and they're aware of the votes around this idea.

NOT RIGHT NOW:

5.  Wish Box for missing Tracks & Artists

We're switching this idea to 'Not Right Now', as this isn't something we have any immediate plans to implement. We appreciate you sharing your thoughts.

6.  View all Playlist Followers

8.  Play multiple selected Playlists

9.  Opt out of live songs

10. Sorting Options for List of Playlists

11. Make Spotify Connect a Choice

12. Warning when a Track is removed from Spotify

We thrive on Ideas

We're actively bringing your comments and feedback to the teams here so they know which features are important to you. If you've got a good idea, you can submit it here.

The ads are always louder in volume than the music. Please fix.

ANOTHER BAD IDEA FOR LATEST UPDATE:

I updated iOS a few days ago & today noticed that moving a track which you are playing (normally highlighted in green when being played) suddenly becomes the same colour as EVERY OTHER TRACK ON THE PLAYLIST (white) the instant you click edit to transfer the track being white. Having the track in green was a help when moving a track & going back to the original playlist you wanted to then delete it from. Now I have to scroll through 100 tracks (sometimes more) & have to read every track until I reach the track being transferred from the originating playlist.

I could just leave the track on both Playlists but it’s such a nuisance having duplicates. It was much better playing the track, moving it to its destination playlist, then quickly scan the originating playlist for the track in green in order to delete it.

As someone else mentioned in another thread it appears Spotify just employ tech types to tinker with updates & functionality to appear hip or justification fly their salary. But seriously if something already works well & has ease of use for us subscribers why tinker & actually make things worse?

PS: I use Spotify mainly on iPhone X.

Hey @cittauk,

Thanks for reaching out to us about this.

Would you mind creating a new topic about this in the iOS help board on the Community? Just head here to do so and a member of the Community will get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks!

Where is the March 2019 Ideas Review, or have Soptify stopped listening to their customers.  Some things should be simple to impliment (like Landscape mode, first suggested in 2014)!

Ideas are nice, as it will keep innovating Spotify. However, most users have never posted anything and how come? How many users does Spotify have and how many logs in to engage? My guess is less than one percent....

Therefore, the best ideas have to be proposed back to the full user mass, giving people an actual voice in a voting democracy.

Right now, I hate Spotify on my phone, as you have made it even more difficult than before to delete a song from a playlist. This should be SO simple to do, so why make it harder than it was? You can no longer even see in edit mode, which song is playing. Having to manually read the entire list in order to find it, is just bad for everyone.
