We are happy to announce that

Though we were challenged to remove this feature temporarily due to stability problems, we plan to bring this back. We believe the ability to search despite making one or two spelling errors is essential to the search experience. Our development teams are working hard to consider the needed improvements.
Thanks for the kudos everyone. We are pleased to let you know that we plan to enable a feature which will let users disallow a single user from following you in the near future. We'll let you know as soon as this feature becomes available.

Thanks to your votes we are considering now the following ideas (thanks neo-x, incandenza and cdc for bringing them up)
To be able to add friends using their Spotify login ID
To be able to see their actions in Spotify Social (what they are listening to)

Currently, sending a song goes through facebook, if the other person replies to
my message I have to check facebook. It makes more sense to have a chat / message system inside of Spotify.
