The other day a user posted that all his playlists were missing, as well as his Premium subscription. Nico's answer was very clear since he outlined both 'what happened' and 'what to do':

 

"Hey @cerebraltonic! Welcome to the Spotify Community. ^^

 

What happened: You most likely logged into an additional account you didn’t know you have. Don’t worry; unless you’ve applied a payment method to it at some point, this account is not costing you anything.

What to do: To get to the account you’re used to, log out of the “empty” account and log in again but, this time, use just your Spotify username, not your email address.
